Frequently Asked Questions

Where do our dogs sleep when they stay with you?

Your dog will sleep either on a dog bed, or crated depending in what they’re used to! In the kennel they will sleep on a comforter in the heated/cooled inside. In Lloydminster they will sleep crated.

How Do You Prefer Payment?

We only take e transfer or cash due to a history of trouble with checks unfortunately. We will send an online invoice via quickbooks to you, and payment is due prior to picking up your dog.

What should we bring when we bring our dog?

All we need from you is proof of rabies, food, leash, collar and any medications your dog needs. We do prefer you don’t bring any extra toys or beds etc as we worry about losing them or getting them wrecked!!

Is there paperwork?

Yes there will be paperwork! Remember emergency contact info, veterinarian info, feeding and medication info etc and allow some time to fill it out as well!

What is your cancellation policy?

We require cancellation with 24 hours notice. If you have an emergency we understand, however we do need the notice to be courteous to other clients. People who have more than 3 no shows (or frequent cancellations) will be required to prepay for their booking with no refund.

When can I drop off or pick up my dog?

We are super flexible for your travel needs, but we do REQUIRE that you let us know when you are on your way to drop off so we can be prepared. We are human beings and have to run errands and do many chores, and since we specialize in aggressive dogs we have to ensure the yard is safe, so this helps us plan! Often if we are travelling into Lloydminster for any reason and it works out we can pick up or drop off your dog(s) on the way as well! Maidstone Spring/Summer hours are 12 PM - 7 PM, and Lloydminster windows are 7:30-9 AM, 12-1 PM, and 5-6 PM.

Will my dog play with other dogs during their stay?

We try our best to make sure the dogs staying can have a playmate! However, due to the nature of dogs, not everybody always gets along, and we can’t control who is here on any given weekend. Safety is our first concern for your pup!

Do you board aggressive dogs?

Yes, we are one of the only facilities with the insurance and trained staff and handling systems to deal with major aggression. We do not require pre-screening or meet and greets for the Maidstone location; however, we do require you to tell us if your dog has ever shown this behavior in the past. Any dogs with extreme anxiety or aggression to humans/strangers are required to kennel board in Maidstone.

What information do I need to book?

All we need is your dog’s name, your name, your rabies vaccine proofs, whether you’d like in-home or kennel, and the drop-off date and time, and the pickup date and time! For Lloydminster a daycare assessment day is required ahead of any boarding booking to determine suitability.

What if my trip runs late and I have to extend the stay?

Just shoot us a message or text and it’s no problem at all! If we need to get more food, we can accept a transfer from you and grab it!

What is your refund policy?

We do not provide refunds once your dog has started a program or class. This spot is unable to be filled once you have committed to it, and we cannot always catch clients up on things if there was a case they could take your place. Please plan carefully and remember this ahead of time before payment. Payments are required for commitment, to avoid cancellations that leave us scrambling as well. We can sometimes (case dependent) offer credits towards other things for you and your dog.

What if I’m going away for weeks or months and need somewhere for my dog or dogs to stay?

This is no problem for us, and more common than you’d think! We require a 25% deposit, and a rough pickup date or contact throughout if unknown. Payments need to be made monthly, and full balance is required before pick up. We are happy to send updates, pick up food for your dog, and even take them to vet and grooming appointments when and if necessary! We can discuss your specific needs upon booking and determine what’s best for you and your dog!

How long does training take?

Training takes however long it takes. The dog, and the amount of homework you do when we aren’t there decides this! Training should always be ongoing, as dogs are not only living breathing things with their own ideas and thoughts and emotions, but they need mental stimulation and physical work which is why we recommend continuing with sports, and other types of training throughout their lives. NO dog is too old or young to train and learn!

Do you do tours and walk throughs?

No, we do not do these. There are videos and photos of our facilities here on the website, and due to the nature of some of the dogs we handle, we avoid extra traffic through the yard. We also live here, and want to avoid having our private space invaded and we ask you respect that.

Can we phone you?

Short answer, no. We book phone calls weeks in advance. There is very little we can gain from a phone call, most is irrelevant information and we are usually surrounded by barking dogs, with a client, teaching a class, in a class of our own, our hands are wet, or we do deserve some rest sometimes! We can gain all the information we need over email, facebook message, meta message, text and so on, otherwise we need to see it and you in person and guarantee you our undivided attention!

What does expiration on packages purchased look like?

Generally 6 months from the time of purchase is when daycare passes, day train days, and other private session packages expire. Credits can be offered when discussed, however they are not transferable to seminars, competitions, or workshops we host due to the budgeting and plans for those. Contact us for more information on what we can work out with you!
